Beginners Freshman Final Speaking Exam
Yonsei University
Assignment: Your final exam will be in the form of a one-to-one interview with your teacher and will be worth 30% of your final grade. You should begin rehearsing the following questions as soon as possible. Questions will be chosen at random, so it is important that you can answer all the questions provided. The material has been taken directly form your World View 2 textbook. You must be able to hold a conversation for 2 minutes. If your first response is too short, I will ask you more questions to fill up the allotted time. Follow-up questions regarding your response may be asked as well.
1. What do you usually do on the weekend? What are some things you never get a chance to do? (Unit 1)
2. I have a cough, a fever and a runny and stuffy nose. What should I do? (Unit 2)
3. Tell me about your dream vacation. Where would you go? What would you see?
(Use the conditional)(Unit 4)
4. What are some things foreigners should and shouldn’t do in Korea? Explain why/why not. (Unit 5)
5. Use the vocabulary from Unit 7 to describe one of your family members. The more detail the better. (height, age, hair colour, eye colour, facial hair?, body shape, facial features etc.)
6. Tell me what your friend said about a movie lately. Use the grammar points from pg. 36 to help you. Example. My friend Mark said that he went to see Terminator over the weekend. He told me that it was worth seeing in the movie theatre. He said the special effects were awesome but the story line wasn’t so good. I think I’ll take his advice and see it just for the special effects. (Unit 8)
7. Do you prefer eating out or eating at home? Explain why. If you do eat out, is there some place you always go? (Unit 9)
8. What are some things you have to do around the house? Do you do these things on a daily basis or on specific days? Elaborate.
