Absences
Absences: There are two kinds of absences: excused and un-excused.

Excused Absences are absences for a good reason such as a doctor’s appointment, a military physical or a death in the family. All excused absences must have a note to be excused. You must give me a note within one week after being absent. After one week, I will not accept a note.

Un-excused
absences are everything else. Any absence from class without a note is an un-excused absence.

Classroom Policies
1) This an English Language Class. I will deduct participation points for excessive Korean speaking.
2) Homework: Late homework will not be accepted unless I am given a valid excused absence form.
3) No cell phones. The first time a cell phone is heard it will be taken for one week. The second time a cell phone is heard it will be taken for the rest of the semester.
4) Come prepared for class. Come prepared each week with your textbook, the same notebook and all class handouts.
5) Ask questions. Asking questions is the best way to learn about things you don’t understand.
6) No plagiarism (표절). DO NOT copy from the internet, newspapers, magazines, books or other students. Copying other people’s work is plagiarism. It is both ethically wrong and illegal. Any amount of plagiarism on either the mid-term exam or final exam will result in a grade of zero on your exam.
7) No food in the classroom. Drinks are fine.
